Introducing Calibre App 2.0: A New Era for Respiratory and Metabolic Insights
The team at Calibre Biometrics is proud to announce the launch of App 2.0, a completely redesigned and reengineered platform built to unlock deeper insights, smarter integrations, and a more intuitive user experience.
Built from the Ground Up—Powered by User Feedback
This release marks a major milestone in our journey. We want to thank our dedicated customers—especially early adopters—whose ongoing feedback has played a pivotal role in shaping this next-generation tool. While not every feature request could be implemented in the first release, App 2.0 is built with modular architecture that supports continuous growth and expanded capabilities.
Developed using agile methodology and guided by a global team of experts, this app is designed to be flexible, future-ready, and optimized for both performance and usability.
Smarter Session Setup with Pre-Calibration Data Checks
One of the key improvements in App 2.0 is the addition of an initial data verification screen. Before starting a session, users can now confirm whether sensors are correctly capturing and calibrating data. This simple step helps avoid wasted testing time by ensuring accurate setup before engaging in a protocol or open session. It’s a small but powerful enhancement that reflects our commitment to data integrity and user confidence.
Seamless Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) Integration
A highly requested feature—Heart Rate Monitor integration—is now included in App 2.0. At launch, the app supports:
Additional HRM compatibility is already on our roadmap for future updates in 2025.
Graphical Overlays for Deeper Insight
The newly designed live dashboard now supports multi-metric graph overlays, allowing users to view and compare several biometric trends simultaneously. In response to previous limitations, users can now:
-
Toggle metrics on or off
-
Pin specific data streams
-
View color-coded overlays for enhanced clarity
This upgrade makes it significantly easier to identify meaningful relationships between respiratory, metabolic, and cardiovascular metrics in real time.
Enhanced Log File Access via Secure Web Portal
App 2.0 also introduces expanded data access through a new Single Sign-On (SSO) web portal. For users who rely on detailed session logs, you’ll find a more comprehensive data set and a user-friendly interface optimized for desktop analysis. This portal marks the first phase of a broader web-based dashboard strategy, giving users more flexibility in how they review and interact with their data.
A More Intuitive and Educational Interface
We’ve redesigned the app for ease of use and better in-app learning. Key improvements include:
-
Clearer metric labeling with color-coded distinctions
-
Expanded educational content on calibration, wear guidance, and test prep
-
In-app explanations of core biometric concepts
Whether you’re a new user or a data-savvy athlete, App 2.0 helps you get the most out of every session.
Introducing Novel Metrics: BRU and TVU
This release also debuts two new, proprietary respiratory stability metrics:
-
Breath Rate Uniformity (BRU)
-
Tidal Volume Uniformity (TVU)
Both are percentage-based scores that evaluate the consistency of your breathing patterns. The more uniform your breath cycle, the higher the score. These metrics pave the way for future capabilities like ratio-based breathing targets and personalized breath training benchmarks.
Available Now on iOS and Android
After months of focused development, Calibre App 2.0 is officially available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This is just the beginning. Future updates will build on this foundation to offer even deeper insight into your respiratory and metabolic health.
We’re grateful for the trust and collaboration of our user community. Your insights helped bring this vision to life, and we’re excited to continue evolving the platform with you.
